The eighth European Touch Championships, were held here in Bristol at the Filton College WISE Campus, between Thursday 22nd July and Sunday 25th July 2010. This was the eighth time the biannual European Touch Championships was contested, and the third time the event had been hosted by England - the previous occasion being in 1998!

Four of the incumbent champion nations retaining their titles across the six divisions contested, and an impressive five different nations battling out for respective titles in the 2010 event.

Arguably the biggest shock of the tournament was the ommission of England in the Mens Open final, after having somewhat dominated the field over the last decade; this years spoils belonging to Scotland, who defeated Wales in comprehensive fashion 8-3.

England were humbled by both Scotland and Wales in the round games, and had to settle for the consolation Bronze medal after a tight 5-4 win over France in the playoff.

In the Womens Open, it was again the English ladies who reigned supreme, holding their European champions tag with a tenacious 2-1 victory over Wales in the decider. The English girls were simply throughout the rounds, amassing an incredible 52 touchdowns for, to nil against; and a further for & against of 23-2 during the quarter and semi-finals.

The Mixed Open saw the title being handed to Ireland, after a gritty 7-6 win over Wales stole the crown from former champs Scotland.
